Join us in our mission to safeguard
Medical professionals in our battle against
COVID-19
Also called aerosol boxes, these are essential pieces of personnel protective equipment (PPEs) for our
medical staff on the frontline and are currently short on supply in our fight against the Coronavirus Infectious Disease - 2019.
Our discussions with doctors, medical students and our professors have established that a most effective way to deal with the ongoing shortage of PPE
is to provide alternatives to obstruct the transfer of moisture from the patient to the staff, allowing the care professional to assist the patient
with minimal risk. Taking advantage of the open-source design by Dr. Hsien Yung Lai from Taiwan, we’ve re-worked the box for the present context:
making it easy to manufacture amid the national lockdown and simpler still to assemble while keeping it cost-effective,
so that our heroes may continue to serve, unnerved.
We aim to build and supply these boxes to government hospitals, free of cost.
Please help us serve as much point-of-care medical staff, as possible. They are our only line of defence against the SARS-CoV-2.
Let's come forward to save them, for them to save us.
Ours is an assembly optimized version of the open-source design by Dr. Hsien Yung Lai, making the low-cost and reusable PPE even more cost-effective and more efficient for manufacturing, storage and distribution. We’ve made it such that one may assemble it themselves, on-site. These (modifications) shall prove crucial in protecting our medical staff using minimum resources amid a nationwide lockdown.
We ask you to help us here so that we may provide these to government-run hospitals, absolutely free of cost. Not only would you be sending your love with the box, but you would be sending them your word too. We give you the opportunity to pen down what you’d like our brave-hearts to know, as we’ll print your word behind the kit user-manual.
Through a rigorous design process involving subject matter experts such as Dr. Johann Christoper (MD, DNB, Care Hospitals), Dr. Abhijeet Bhati (ENT, NEIGRIHMS), Prof. S. Kanagaraj (Biomedical Systems, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Guwahati), Dr. Sajan. Kapil (Manufacturing, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Guwahati) and students of medicine including Mr. Rijul Dogra (Prefinal year, MBBS, GMC Jammu) we have ensured efficacy and practicality.
Their ease of manufacturing implies the ability to produce them anywhere in the country and their ease of transportation and storage implies the ability to deliver these well within schedule. Their ease of assembly implies that we deliver them boxed like pizzas, seasoned with zip-ties, along with the heartfelt letter you’ve penned, for a nurse to open and be good to go, save a life while protecting her own.
Our doctors are our one and final line of defense, let's come forward to save them, for them to save us.
